Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd has announced an estimated 124 INR-Crore investment to redevelop the existing Orchid Hotel into the luxurious ‘Aurika Hotel’ in Shillong. The firm has collaborated with Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) to develop this project under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Spanning an anticipated 1.15 Acres, the Aurika Hotel in Shillong will feature 130 opulent rooms and is slated for completion within three years. Additionally, the hotel will boast premium facilities, including banquet halls and top-tier amenities.

Furthermore, the foundation stone was laid on Wednesday, December 4, by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, with Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh and other dignitaries also present at the event. The Aurika Hotel in Shillong symbolizes a new era for Meghalaya’s tourism, blending modernity with local charm.
