MMRDA begins work on 2,682 INR-Crore Elevated road from Ghatkopar to Thane

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has formally started work on the elevated road above the Eastern Freeway to ease traffic between Mumbai and Thane. The corridor connecting Anand Nagar in Thane to Chheda Nagar in Ghatkopar will cost an estimated 2,682 INR-Crore

Authorities have already started with pillar excavation and have placed roadblocks to ensure smooth and safe construction. The elevated corridor will start at Ghatkopar and stretch approximately 12.955 Km. Additionally, the project includes three lanes on each side, promising faster traffic flow.

Once completed, this corridor will provide tremendous relief to commuters in this high-traffic zone. Moreover, the new elevated road will offer a signal-free path from Mumbai to Thane. This will reduce travel time to just 30 to 35 minutes.
