The Government of Goa and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has undertaken the development of a new Greenfield Airport for Goa, near the Village of Mopa under Public-Private partnership mode. The new Greenfield Airport at Mopa will be an International Airport serving both tourism and business markets and keeping pace with the growing air travel segment in India.
Project Specifications:
From an aeronautical viewpoint, the airport is proposed on an expanse of 2271 acres. The construction of Mopa Greenfield International Airport is set to be carried out in four phases. Phase I shall include one runway with half parallel taxiway and three runway exits. Phase II includes one runway with full parallel taxiway and seven runway exits including four rapid exits. The other facilities include Terminal building, Security area and control points, GSE storage, parking, technical area, cargo, maintenance, general and business aviation areas, road network, rail connectivity and airport city.
