A Multi Modal Logistics Park would be coming up at Jogighopa in Assam. It is one of the 24 state-of-the-art Multimodal Logistic Parks (MMLP) under the Bharatmala project.

The site is located in the Boitamari tehsil of Bongaigaon district and is close to village Karea, near Jogighopa town of Assam.

The project is approximately 150 km from Guwahati, and is near to National Waterway 2, which is on the River Brahmaputra. The land is currently owned by the Government of Assam.

The size of the land parcel is more than 700 acres spread on both sides of the Saibari – Jogighopa Road. Govt. of Assam has agreed to give 190 acres of land for the development of the proposed Multimodal Logistic Park (MMLP).

The proposed MMLP in Jogighopa is strategically located with a potential to offer multimodal connectivity through road, rail and inland waterway modes and can develop as a distribution / aggregation center for the North – Eastern states besides serving as a hub for the cross-border trade with Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar.

In the subsequent stages of expansion and based on a techno-commercial feasibility, an airstrip and/or an air cargo facility may also be considered in the MMLP.
