In a significant boost to Bihar’s healthcare infrastructure, the Ministry of Health has appointed the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC), a subsidiary of National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), as the executing agency for the construction of AIIMS Darbhanga.
This state-of-the-art healthcare complex will feature a tertiary care hospital, a medical college, an AYUSH Hospital, and accommodation facilities for staff and students. The project aims to substantially improve medical services and education in the region, marking a major milestone in Bihar’s healthcare development.

The scale of the AIIMS Darbhanga project is impressive, with an estimated cost of 1,261 INR–Crore. The institute will sprawl an anticipated 188 Acre land parcel, encompassing over 2.25 Lakh–SqM of construction area. The project is set to be completed within 36 months from the time of commencement. This rapid development schedule underscores the government’s commitment to swiftly enhancing healthcare capabilities in the region.
This groundbreaking project will become one of the largest healthcare initiatives in the country, transforming healthcare in Bihar by providing improved medical services and educational resources.
