Overview:
The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University was founded by the Government of NCT in 2008 to provide higher education in the Social Science and Liberal Art & Humanities. The campus is currently running from a temporary Kashmiri gate/Karmpura/Lodhi road Delhi. The university has planned to develop a new University campus at Dheerpur, with the commitment to combine the value of excellence and social justice in higher education. The campus envisages building on a land area of 49.40 acres with the offering of 3.05 million sq. ft. built-up area.
Project Specification:
The proposed campus is designed to ensure the most conducive environment to facilitate collective engagement, spaces for self-growth, knowledge production and dissemination, community living, and inclusive culture. To fulfill the commitment, the development of the campus follows two phases.
Phase I
This phase aims to build an academic block, administrative block, library block, theater block, amenities and convinios, boys & girls hostels block: 3 residential blocks of type 1-VI ranging from 19-27 upper floors. Other facilities such as VIP guest house, sports block, clubhouse, V.C. bungalow – Type VII, and MLCP Block: Ground Floor + 6 Upper Floors are also included in the proposal.
Phase II
The developer has planned to build a separate academic block, future hostels block consists of a Ground Floor + 20 Upper Floors along with future residential (Block-2 Type – II & III): Ground Floor + 19 Upper Floors in phases II. Every block of each phase has a learning space considering the sustainability at the topmost of their priorities.
Locality and Connectivity
The free flow of natural light and an open space act as a top-notch factor to the campus project. Striking light and soothing space give an extraordinary value to the project. The campus, located in Dheepur Village, District – North West Delhi, New Delhi. The nearest area of the site is Model Town which is well-connected by the Ring Road. Likewise, the site has easy access to the Outer Ring Road along with 2 Metro Stations (Model Town and Azadpur) in the proximity.
