The construction of the long-awaited Piduguralla government hospital and medical college has picked up pace. Around 47 acres of land near Kamepalli village was allotted for this project, and construction is already underway with an estimated cost of INR 500 Crore. The new infrastructure will provide 100 MBBS seats, a nursing college, and a 330-bed super specialty hospital.

The construction is advancing through a two-phase approach. During the initial phase a total of 12 hospital blocks, with a budget of INR 112 Crore will be constructed and in the second phase, 17 additional blocks, encompassing medical college facilities, laboratories, and student hostels, will be constructed. Out of these, 12 blocks are currently at the slab level.
Officials have informed that they will establish state-of-the-art operation theaters and OPD consultation rooms equipped with the latest equipment. More than 350 construction laborers from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Assam are working round-the-clock shifts to complete the work within the stipulated time.
