NHAI has approved a 32.4 Km service road project along the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway (NH-48), linking Khed-Shivapur to Ravet. The project will cost an estimated 604 INR-Crore. The construction will begin in March 2025, with completion set for two years.
The service road will feature two lanes, each 3.5 M wide, ensuring a smooth passage for small vehicles and residents. Authorities expect it to serve nearly one lakh vehicles daily, cutting down travel time by around 20 minutes. Additionally, officials will execute the service road project in three phases:
- Khed-Shivapur to the new Katraj tunnel,
- Warje to Balewadi, and
- Wakad to Ravet.

The land acquisition process is almost complete, and the tender process will begin soon. Once finished, this service road by NHAI will transform connectivity, making highway travel smoother and more convenient for thousands of commuters.
