NLC India signs MOU with Rajasthan for thermal and renewable energy

NLC India Ltd, on Sunday, March 10, announced signing a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the government of Rajasthan for setting up a 125 MW Lignite-based Power Plant and a 1000 MW solar power project in the state. The projects will see a combined estimated investment of more than INR 7,000 Crore.

As per the MoU signed between NLC and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL), the company will set up a 125 MW Lignite Pit-Head Thermal Power Plant in the Bikaner District, along with a 1000 MW solar power plant. The company also received a Letter of Interest (LoI) for an 810 MW Solar Power Project.

Moreover, the government of Rajasthan signed MoUs with Coal India Ltd (CIL), NTPC, PGCIL, and REC towards adding generation capacities and transition systems, along with financing. The MoUs signify a step towards sustainable and robust energy infrastructure, aligning with the Nation’s Ambitious Renewable Energy targets.
