NTPC REL clinches 80 MW floating solar project in Madhya Pradesh

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) announced on Tuesday, August 8, that it has won the bid for an 80 MW floating solar project at the Omkareshwar reservoir in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh.

Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), a joint venture between Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and MP Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd, conducted the bidding on August 8, 2023. The project secured a tariff of INR 3.80/kWh, and the generated energy will be utilized by MP state DISCOMs.

Upon successful completion of this project, NTPC’s floating solar capacity is set to increase significantly to 342 MW.
