The Odisha Government, on Monday, January 22, at the cabinet meeting, approved 14 proposals, including JSW Group‘s plan to establish electronic vehicles and components manufacturing facilities in Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur districts worth an estimated investment of INR 40,000 Crore. The projects are envisaged to boost the industrial growth of the state as well as create nearly 11,000 job opportunities.
JSW plans to set up an Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) plant for EVs and components at its existing EV & EV battery manufacturing project at Naraj, Cuttack. It will be developed in two phases with an estimated investment of INR 25,000 Crore. The project will create approximately 4000 direct and indirect job opportunities.

The company will set up another EV components manufacturing complex comprising a copper and lithium smelter at its existing facility in the new age sector at Paradeep, Jagatsinghpur. It will be developed as the third phase of the existing project with an estimated investment of INR 15,000 Crore. The project is anticipated to create 7000 direct and indirect job opportunities.
