The Odisha Government has approved 20 significant investment projects worth an estimated 1.36 Lakh INR-Crore. The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, sanctioned these transformative projects. They promise to generate over 74,350 jobs and fuel Odisha’s economic growth.
These investment projects in Odisha span nine dynamic sectors, such as steel, chemicals, aluminium, aviation fuel, green energy, apparel, power, cement, and renewable energy. They will be established across ten districts: Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Khurda, Sambalpur, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, and Jagatsinghpur.

Among the approvals, Tata Steel’s Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd received the green light to expand its integrated steel plant in Jajpur from 0.98 MTPA to 9.50 MTPA. The estimated investment of this project is 61,769.03 INR-Crore. Additionally, Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Ltd will invest around 11,782.05 INR-Crore to build a cutting-edge ammonium nitrate plant in Jharsuguda.
Furthermore, Hindalco Industries Ltd also secured approval to expand its smelter capacity in Sambalpur from 0.38 MTPA to 0.68 MTPA. The project’s estimated investment is 10,645 INR-Crore. In just six months, Odisha has attracted investments exceeding around 1.80 Lakh INR-Crore through 73 industrial projects. Moreover, these ventures are expected to create over 1.1 lakh jobs, showcasing the state’s growing industrial prowess.
