Princeton Digital Group (PDG) has announced an estimated 1 USD-Billion investment to expand its data center capacity in India. The company aims to bring its capacity to 230 MW (megawatt) across the major hubs in Mumbai and Chennai. The investment is part of the company’s ambitious 5 USD-Billion strategy to strengthen its footprint across Asia.

The first project includes the capacity expansion of PDG Mumbai Data Center, named ‘MU1’. This entails developing three new buildings over an anticipated 15 Acres of land. This project will add nearly 150 MW to the company’s existing capacity, making it one of the largest operational campuses in the city. Phase 1 of the MU1 Data Center includes a 100 MW expansion and is expected to be completed by 2026.

Additionally, PDG is stepping into Chennai, one of India’s most important cloud infrastructure hubs. The new ‘CH1’ Data Center campus will offer 72 MW of capacity in northern Chennai. This AI-ready facility will cover approximately 9.3 Acres. It is designed for scalability to meet the needs of global hyperscalers.

Both the MU1 and CH1 Data Center campuses will support high-density deployments and advanced cooling technologies to power AI infrastructure. Sustainability is also a priority for PDG, as they aim to power approximately 50% of MU1 with renewable energy.
