Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, February 16, laid the foundation stone for NLC India Ltd‘s 300 MW Solar Power Plant in Rajasthan. The project will see an estimated investment of INR 1,756 Crore and will ensure affordable power supply to government entities.
The proposed solar project is scheduled to be commissioned in September 2024 and will feature cutting-edge technologies such as high-efficiency bifacial modules manufactured in India under the PM Atma Nirbhar Bharat Initiative. It is anticipated to generate 750 units of green power annually and reduce carbon emissions to 18,000 Million-Metric Tonnes over 25 years. The electricity generated through this project will flow through the existing transmission lines of the Barsingsar Thermal Power Station.

NLC India Ltd has signed a power usage agreement with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL) at a tariff of INR 2.52 per unit for the solar power project. It is anticipated to create 600-700 direct and indirect job opportunities.
