After completing 2,658 apartments under the first phase of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in 2023, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has set its sights on a bigger goal. The civic body now plans to build over 4,100 apartments in the second phase, catering to lower and middle-income families.
Officials have identified five locations for the project. PMC will construct 296 units in Balewadi, 736 in Kondhwa, 676 in Dhanori, 2,000 in Hadapsar, and 465 in Vadgaon Khurd. Each apartment will feature a 30×45 SqM carpet area, ensuring a compact yet comfortable living space.

Additionally, the second phase will introduce PMAY apartments under the Affordable Rental Housing (ARH) scheme. PMC will soon forward the proposal to the Central Government for approval, aiming to provide sustainable and affordable homes. With this initiative, the city moves closer to making housing accessible to all.
