Power Mech bags INR 563 Crore order to construct Nuclear Power Plant from BHEL

Power Mech Projects has secured a significant order worth an estimated INR 563 Crore from BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited) to construct a nuclear power plant. The contract duration is 32 months, with an additional 12 months for the guarantee period.

The project involves the construction of a 2×700 MWe, PHWR (pressurized heavy-water reactor) at the Kaiga Atomic Power Project in Uttar Kannada district, Karnataka. The scope of work includes civil, electrical, and structural components, such as the turbine generator building, equipment foundations, chemical lab, storage tanks, peripheral drains, and sewage network.

This order represents Power Mech’s expansion into the nuclear power projects sector. As the government aims to triple its nuclear power capacity to 22,480 MW by 2031, this project contributes to the nation’s growing sustainable energy needs.
