Pune: Land acquisition begins for 83 Km Inner Ring Road project

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has started land acquisition for the inner ring road project. Officials plan to complete land acquisition for the first and second phases by May. The 83 Km inner ring road project will cost an estimated 14,200 INR-Crore.

This project is Pune district’s second inner ring road, after the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited’s outer ring road. It will cover 44 villages across Khed, Haveli, Mulshi, and Maval talukas, requiring a total of 743.41 Hectares of land.

Additonally, the key infrastructure components of the project include 42 connecting roads, 17 bridges, 10 tunnels and a dedicated 5 M wide metro rail corridor. The first phase of the project, extending from Solu to Wadgaon Shinde, aims to ease congestion on Ahmednagar Road. The inner ring road project is expected to significantly improve traffic movement and urban connectivity in the Pune Metropolitan Region.
