RRP Electronics to set up first semiconductor plant in Maharashtra

RRP Electronics has joined hands with a consortium of European Companies to set up a state-of-the-art semiconductor facility in Maharashtra with an estimated investment of INR 5,000 Crore over the next five years. The company will lay the foundation stone for the upcoming project on March 23.

The upcoming greenfield semiconductor facility will be developed over an anticipated 25,000 SqFt of land parcel in a phased manner where phase II will see an estimated investment of INR 5,000 Crore. The OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Testing) facility will be fast-tracked and commenced with adequate technology partners’ support. It will also include an R&D Center that will incorporate the latest developments in the field.

The company will also seek support from the Maharashtra Government to set up the unit comprising multiple lines of OSAT fab foundry and manufacturing. The new facility will leverage opportunities in sectors such as automobiles, power, electronics and various other industries.
