For the first time ever, Sarita Handa, a creative visionary and founder of the renowned home design brand, has unveiled a new collection. This exquisite range of artefacts and artisanal vases is a celebration of timeless Indian art forms. With its elegant designs, the collection pays tribute to the country’s rich heritage while redefining luxury in the home décor segment. The two diametrically different collections when juxtaposed symbolise the harmony between modern and contemporary aesthetics.

The artefacts collection navigates the culturally rich landscapes of Nagaland, Gujarat, Maharashtra and the southern states. Moreover, it is a treasure trove of the curious finds and searches curated by Capt. Rahul Puri, Executive Director, Sarita Handa, a passionate collector with a sharp eye and ear for all things classic and vintage. He has been an important contributor in the home furnishing space and here, his deep research and keen eye have brought to the fore some very eclectic and dated handcrafted decorative figurines and artefacts in a multitude of hues.

Of the many exceptional artefacts & collectables in metal, wood, marble and brass, the unique teal Yaksha wooden puppet represents the Yaksha temple guard. Yakshas, also known as Dvarapalas, have traditionally been placed outside temple doors to guard against evil forces entering into the temple or temple grounds. Another stunning artefact is the masterfully crafted brass statue of Vishnu as Varaha (boar) holding Bhumi (earth) in his arms. Legend has it that Vishnu incarnated as a boar to save Bhumi from the demon Hiranyaksh. This brass sculpture depicts Varaha holding the earth after rescuing her. He holds her delicately on his shoulder, supporting her feet with his hand. He holds the shankha (conch) and chakra (disc) in his left and right hands. One of his feet is placed on the hood of Adishesha (Sheshnaag) This beautiful brass sculpture rests on a solid square pedestal.

The new pottery and ceramics collection conveys an undefined, unstructured and raw look when it comes to the vases collection. With a utilitarian approach and minimalistic design, these artisanal vases seem to rebel against spaces to convene a sophisticated look. Adding a daily dose of fresh flowers or giving them pride of place at your dining table would enliven your spaces.

“As we are veering towards the trend of a more layered, traditional interiors that are cozy, warm and inviting, the blend of old and new, contemporary and classic are the representation of the new traditional aesthetic redefining the design ecosystem. With this philosophy in mind, we have launched these two new collections that would add a new dimension to your home interiors,” says Capt.
