SJVN bags 100 MW Solar project worth INR 550 Crore

SJVN Ltd has bagged a project worth an estimated INR 550 Crore to develop a 100 MW solar plant under an e-reverse auction by the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL). The project would be developed by SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), the wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN, on a Build, Own, and Operate basis.

The solar project is anticipated to be completed within 18 months of signing the PPA (Power Purchase Agreement), which will be signed between SGEL and GUVNL for 25 years. The proposed facility will generate nearly 252 Million units of energy within the first year of commencement, whereas it is expected to generate an overall 5866 Million units over 25 years. It is also anticipated to reduce 2,87,434 tonnes of carbon emissions.

With the addition of this project, SJVN’s solar and wind portfolio stands at 5090.5 MW with 179.5 MW in operation, 1860 MW under construction, and 3051 MW in various stages of implementation.
