SPML Infra secures 618 INR-Crore irrigation project in Jharkhand

SPML Infra Ltd has secured an estimated 617.98 INR-Crore contract from the Water Resource Department of Hazaribagh for an irrigation project in Jharkhand. This initiative, a part of the Konar Irrigation Project, will be executed on a turnkey basis in collaboration with Vijay Kumar Mishra Construction

It aims to enhance irrigation infrastructure across 12,599.43 Hectares of farmland in three key blocks: Bisnugarh in Hazaribagh, Nawadih in Bokaro, and Dumri in Giridih. The irrigation project in Jharkhand will involve rebuilding and strengthening the main canal, right branch canal, and distributaries. Authorities will also construct an approach channel, apply canal lining, and install a solar-powered pump house. Additionally, the project will introduce a pressure pipe water conveyance system to improve efficiency.

A robust pipeline network will support this initiative, featuring MS, DI, and HDPE pipes with diameters up to 1,200mm. Furthermore, SPML Infra will oversee a 10-year operation and maintenance phase, ensuring long-term sustainability. With this irrigation project, Jharkhand takes a significant step toward strengthening its agricultural backbone and securing water access for thousands of farmers.
