Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has announced its plans to establish a 26-MW captive solar plant in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. The company has already entered into a power delivery agreement (PDA) with Neosym Industry Limited (Neosym), a prominent manufacturer of Gray & S.G. iron castings.
The project aims to produce an estimated 59 million units of electricity each year and is scheduled to commence operations in March 2024. This initiative will result in an annual reduction of 32,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

The latest order follows a 28.12-megawatt green energy plant for Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India Private Limited (SSMI) and a 6-MW captive solar plant for Chalet Hotels in Maharashtra.
The company has not disclosed the financial details of the project.
