TCPL Green Energy Solutions plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Jharkhand aimed at producing hydrogen-based powertrains and systems for battery electric vehicles.
Announcing the signing of an initial pact with the Jharkhand Government, the company outlined its commitment to invest more than INR 350 Crore in the upcoming years. The investment will be directed towards the creation of fuel-agnostic powertrain solutions, encompassing hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), systems for battery and fuel cell electric vehicles, and fuel delivery systems.

The plant aims to start production in 2024 in a phased manner, beginning with the introduction of hydrogen ICE. This investment will open avenues for the state’s skilled young workforce to engage with new technologies and processes, leading to the creation of over 300 direct job opportunities for them.
TCPL Green Energy Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Cummins Pvt Ltd, operates under the umbrella of Tata Motors and the prominent global power technology entity, Cummins Inc., in a 50:50 joint venture partnership.
