The Telangana Government has launched the construction of Ratan Tata Road, a Greenfield Radial Road that will connect the Tata Interchange at Raviryal on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to the Regional Ring Road (RRR) at Amangal. This ambitious project will cost an estimated 4,030 INR-Crore and significantly improve regional connectivity.

Spanning approximately 41.5 Km, the Ratan Tata Road will pass through six mandals—Maheshwaram, Ibrahimpatnam, Kandukur, Yacharam, Kadthal, and Amangal—covering 14 villages in the Rangareddy district. Additionally, authorities will execute the project in two phases. Phase I will extend 19.2 Km, linking ORR (Raviryal, Tata Interchange) to Meerkhanpet at a cost of around 1,665 INR-Crore. Phase II will stretch 22.3 Km, connecting Meerkhanpet to RRR at Amangal, requiring 2,365 INR-Crore.

Furthermore, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) will oversee the project. Designed as a 100-metre access-controlled expressway, Ratan Tata Road will feature a 3+3 six-lane main carriageway. Authorities have planned for future expansion to eight lanes and reserved a 20 M wide central median for a potential metro or railway corridor. Moreover, the road will feature service roads, a greenbelt, dedicated cycle tracks, footpaths, and a utility corridor on both sides, ensuring a seamless and sustainable transport network.

To kickstart the work, HMDA and HGCL have invited bids from agencies. The technical bid opening is scheduled for March 21. With these developments, Ratan Tata Road is set to become a vital link, strengthening Telangana’s transport infrastructure.
