The Uttar Pradesh Government has granted in-principle approval for THDC India’s 1200 MW (megawatt) pumped storage power plant project in the Robertsganj tehsil of Sonbhadra district. The project’s estimated cost is INR 6,600 Crore.
The upcoming off-stream closed-loop pump storage plant requires approximately 300.55 Hectares of land. Additionally, the project’s operation will need an initial reservoir filling of 15.031 Million Cubic Meters (MCM) of water annually. The Son River will be the source of water supply for THDC India’s venture.
