The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will fund the establishment of a 120 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant in Tripura, which will be set up by the state government.
Debasish Sarkar, Managing Director of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd (TSECL), announced that they would upgrade the existing gas-based thermal power project in Rokhia, located in Sepahijala district, from 63 MW to 120 MW using the “Capacity Augmentation” system.
The project’s initial cost was INR 770 crore, which has now increased to INR 840 crore. The ADB will provide funding in an 80:20 ratio, and the central and state governments will also contribute to the project.
