UPL Pesticide and Speciality Chemical Product Manufacturing Unit to be set up in Jhagadia. UPL (United Phosphorus Limited) intends to propose an expansion in Pesticide Technical, Pesticide Specific Intermediates and Speciality Chemicals Products Integrated with Chlor Alkali and Captive Power Plant at Plot Numbers 746 and 750, GIDC Industrial Estate, Jhagadia, Bharuch, Gujarat. On April 19, 2022, they applied for environmental clearance, and the project is currently in the early phases of environmental clearance.

This chemical power plant is at 21.65197 (21° 39′ 7.092″ N) latitude and 73.132618 (73° 7′ 57.4248″ E) longitude in Bharuch, Gujarat. The plan envisages the construction of 6,31,258 sq. ft. of built-up area on a land parcel of 218.98 acres. The production units will produce 593216.04 TPA (Tonnes Per annum) of pesticide technicals, pesticide intermediates and Synthetic Organic Chemicals. This industrial facility’s construction will get underway in 2022 and be finished by 2024. The project will cost INR 908 crores in total.
