YEIDA approves Detailed Project Report of Heritage City

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), on Thursday, March 21, approved the DPR (Detailed Project Report) for the development of the Heritage City along the Yamuna Expressway. The project will be developed across an anticipated 2,965.2 Acres of land parcel at an estimated budget of INR 6,000 Crore.

Per the DPR, the project will include a parking zone spread across 46 Acres as well as a convention center over nearly 42 Acres. It will also comprise a yoga center, green zones, and other facilities. Furthermore, the development includes the renovation of ancient historic areas and home provisions for widows and ascetics.

On a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) basis, the Heritage City will undergo phased development. It will commence near the 101km milestone of the Yamuna Expressway and terminate at the Banke Bihari Temple. An expressway, 6.9km long and 100m wide, will connect the two points.

The first phase of the Heritage City will include developing 753 Acres at an estimated investment of INR 1,200 Crore. Moreover, the scope of work includes reviving natural water bodies (rivers, canals, and ponds). YEIDA anticipates starting the work on the ground post-Lok Sabha elections.

For the Heritage City, the authority will acquire land from 12 villages between the Yamuna Expressway and the river Yamuna. Furthermore, the PWD will build an additional bridge across the Yamuna to improve connectivity. It will facilitate parking in Heritage City, and travelling to key temples for visitors.
