Haryana CM Khattar lays stone of INR 1,200 Crore medical college in Yamunanagar

On Monday, September 25, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar of Haryana laid the foundation stone for a forthcoming medical college in Punjupur village, Yamunanagar, named after Guru Teg Bahadur. 

The project, spanning 21 acres of land and estimated to cost around INR 1,200 Crore, is set to be constructed in approximately 30 months. The project entails the construction of a 100-seat medical college, a 500-bed hospital, a nursing college, and a physiotherapy institute.

CM Khattar stated that the government is proactively expanding healthcare services by establishing medical colleges and hospitals in every district, aiming to transform Haryana into a symbol of health. 

The state has witnessed a threefold increase in MBBS seats over the past nine years, with the current count at 2,185 seats compared to just 700 in 2014. Additionally, the number of PG seats has risen from 289 to 851.
