The Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Council, chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, on Saturday, November 25, approved the development of four new Industrial Estates in the region. The decision was made during the Administrative Council meeting on November 25.
The proposed projects will cover approximately 172.375 acres (1379 kanals) with an estimated investment of 136.65 INR-Crores. These are scheduled to be completed within 28 months of commencement and will be developed in Budhi Kathua, Medicity Jammu, Chandgam, and Lelhar Pulwama.

The scope of work includes internal road works, centralized water distribution systems, electricity availability, rainwater harvesting, roadside greenery, and plantation, among others. A central effluent treatment plant will also be established based on the new National Green Tribunal guidelines.
The project aims to facilitate industrial development and entrepreneurship in Jammu and Kashmir. It is anticipated to generate 11,497 new job opportunities in the state.
