PM Modi virtually lays foundation for fishing harbor at Pudimadaka

On Friday, August 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, virtually laid the foundation stone for the Pudimadaka Fishing Harbor project in Andhra Pradesh. With an estimated investment of 387 INR-Crore, the fishing harbour will be operational within the next 18 months.

Key features of the Pudimadaka Fishing Harbor include breakwaters, quays, jetties, and dredging. The Andhra Pradesh Marine Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMIDCL) will manage both construction and operations. Moreover, APMIDCL has already taken preliminary possession of an anticipated 37.07 Acres of government land.

Once completed, the Pudimadaka Fishing Harbor will accommodate 930 fishing vessels and boast an annual fish landing capacity of 28,700 Metric Tonnes, valued at an estimated 263.61 INR-Crore. Furthermore, this grand project is expected to generate employment for 4,700 fishermen each year. This venture will not only create numerous job opportunities but also facilitate the establishment of cold storage facilities.
