Adani Group to Invest INR 8,700 Crore in Bihar; creating 10K job opportunities

During the Bihar Global Investors Summit, 2023, Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Group, on Thursday, December 14, announced that the company plans to invest an estimated INR 8,700 Crore in Bihar. The company will make these investments in various sectors such as logistics, agro-industry, gas distribution, cement manufacturing, and smart meters.

These projects are expected to generate nearly 10,000 direct and indirect job opportunities. Pranav Adani announced investments in the following projects:

  • Cement Manufacturing sector: An investment of INR 2,500 Crore towards establishing manufacturing units in Warsaliganj and Mahawal. These plants will have an approximate capacity of 10 Million MTPA (Metric Tonnes Per Annum).
  • Warehouse/ Godown sector: An investment of INR 1,200 Crore, creating nearly 2000 job opportunities.
  • Smart Meters Manufacturing sector: An investment of INR 3,100 Crore towards installing nearly 28,000 smart meters across Shivan, Saran, Gopalganj, and Vaishali.
  • Agro-logistics sector: Upgrading the silo storage capacity from 1.5 lakh MTPA to 2.75 lakh MTPA in six locations – Purnia, Begusarai, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Kishanganj, Araria. Adani Agro Pvt Ltd has already started the work with an estimated investment of INR 900 Crore.
  • Gas Distribution sector: Enhancing the distribution network in Gaya and Nalanda with an investment of INR 200 Crore. The company plans to start producing compressed biogas and EV chargers creating job opportunities for nearly 3000 people.
