On Friday, August 02, the Indian Government approved 8 National High-Speed Corridor Projects, spanning approximately 936 Km. The estimated investment of these projects is INR 50,655 Crore, aimed to enhance logistics efficiency and connectivity nationwide.
The projects approved by the Cabinet Committee include:
Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor:
This fully access-controlled 6-lane corridor will cost an estimated INR 4,613 Crore. The authority will develop the 88 km Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) mode. Furthermore, this project will supplement the existing 4-lane National Highway, doubling the traffic capacity between Agra and Gwalior. Notably, this corridor will reduce the distance between Agra and Gwalior by 7% and cut travel time by 50%, significantly lowering logistics costs.
Kharagpur-Moregram National High-Speed Corridor:
The 231-km Kharagpur-Moregram National High-Speed Corridor will be developed in Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) at an estimated INR 10,247 Crore. This new corridor will enhance the existing 2-lane National Highway, increasing traffic capacity by about five times between Kharagpur and Moregram.
Tharad-Deesa-Mehsana-Ahmedabad National High-Speed Corridor:
The development of the 214-km Tharad-Deesa-Mehsana-Ahmedabad National High-Speed Corridor, in BOT mode, will cost an estimated INR 10,534 Crore. This corridor will link two key National Corridors in Gujarat, namely the Amritsar-Jamnagar Corridor and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

Raipur-Ranchi National High-Speed Corridor:
Additionally, the 137-km Pathalgaon-Gumla segment of the Raipur-Ranchi National High-Speed Corridor will be developed in HAM mode with an estimated cost of INR 4,473 Crore. This segment will enhance connectivity between mining areas in Gumla, Lohardaga, Raigarh, Korba, and Dhanbad, and industrial zones in Raipur, Durg, Korba, Bilaspur, Bokaro, and Dhanbad.
Kanpur Ring Road:
Next, the 47-km Kanpur Ring Road will be developed in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode with an estimated cost of INR 3,298 Crore. This section will complete the 6-lane National Highway Ring around Kanpur.

Nashik Phata-Khed Corridor:
Lastly, the devlopment of the 30-km elevated Nashik Phata-Khed Corridor near Pune, on a BOT basis, will cost an estimated INR 7,827 Crore. This elevated corridor will ensure seamless high-speed connectivity for traffic heading to industrial centers like Chakan and Bhosari on NH-60 between Pune and Nashik.
