Hotel industry homes in on Ayodhya with over INR 4200 Crore projects

Ayodhya is set to get a further boost post the Ram Mandir inauguration, since the Uttar Pradesh government plans to kickstart nearly 142 hotel projects worth INR 4233 Crore in Lucknow on February 19.

The state tourism department signed MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) for the development of hotels with private players during the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit in February 2023. These include all types of hotels ranging from luxury hotels to budget hotels, resorts, tented rooms, Swiss cottages, and ashrams.

These projects will include the setting up of:

  • Two mega hotels having 200 rooms each.
  • 20 hotels having 100-175 rooms each.
  • 47 hotels having 50-99 rooms each.
  • 65 hotels including less than 50 rooms

Major companies that will set up their projects in Ayofhya include:

  • Sri RamKripa Hotels Pvt Ltd – 200-key hotel worth an estimated investment of INR 150 Crore.
  • BEL – 200-key hotel worth an estimated investment of INR 150 Crore.
  • Sun Infraengineering Pvt Ltd has assigned an MoU with the state government for setting up a 150-key hotel worth an approximate investment of INR 175 Crore.

Hotels like The Park Inn by Radisson Group and Clarks Inn Express have already started operations.
