Saint-Gobain to invest INR 3,400 Crore in Tamil Nadu

Saint Gobain, a major French construction and industrial materials company, is investing INR 3,400 Crore in a range of greenfield and brownfield projects in Tamil Nadu. These investments will span the company’s various businesses and will bring its total investment in the state to more than INR 8,000 Crore.

B. Santhanam, the CEO of the Asia Pacific and India region and the Chairman of Saint Gobain India, stated that the company, as a pioneer in light and sustainable construction, is strategically positioned to offer building material solutions that combine performance, aesthetics, and sustainability. The investment will encompass various businesses, including glass wool, gypsum plasterboard, acoustic ceiling, float glass, solar glass, and others. 

In addition to its manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur, Chennai, the company also houses a research facility called Saint Gobain Research India (SGR India) within the IIT Madras Research Park.
