West Bengal Govt allots 7.2 Acres in New Town to Narayana Hrudayalaya for a hospital

The State Government has allotted an anticipated 7.2 Acres of land parcel to Devi Shetty’s Narayana Hrudayalaya for setting up a greenfield hospital in New Town, West Bengal. The Bangalore-headquartered group was issued a letter for land allotment by Hidco, the group announced on Wednesday, January 17.

The upcoming hospital will be developed near Biswa Bangla Convention Center in New Town at an estimated cost of INR 1,000 Crore. The 1000-bed hospital will have an outpatient department with the capacity to treat 5000-7000 patients in a day. It will be developed in two phases with phase I anticipated to be operational within 2 years (a soft launch is expected within one and a half years).

The upcoming hospital, a part of Narayana Health Chain, will be developed as a digital hospital having cutting-edge facilities like organ transplants and plenty of ICUs, and will also function as an academic institution for training postgraduate doctors and nurses. The construction is expected to start within six months.
