YEIDA to et up 3 STPs for Yamuna e-way sectors

YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) plans to set up three sewage treatment plants (STPs) with a total capacity of 100 MLD to cater to the residential, industrial and commercial sectors along the Yamuna Expressway. The STPs will come up in sectors 18, 24, and 29 at an estimated cost of INR 160 Crore.

The first phase of construction for one of these STPs, situated in Sector 29, is nearing completion, while work on the other two has commenced. This particular STP will boast a capacity of 60 MLD and will undergo development for INR 62 Crore. However, in the initial phase, a 20 MLD capacity STP is being constructed here, and its completion is imminent.

The STP in Sector 18 will mainly serve residential sectors, while Sector 24 will cater to commercial areas. Meanwhile, the STP in Sector 29 will cater to industries. The STPs will treat and reuse contaminated water from homes and industries for parks, firefighting, and other purposes. Each of these sewage treatment plants (STPs) has a capacity of 20 MLD and will undergo development at INR 48 Crore each. Construction work on both STPs recently commenced and is anticipated to conclude by the beginning of next year.
