The Noida International Airport also referred to as the Jewar Greenfield International Airport, is a forthcoming international airport that is currently under construction near Jewar in the Gautam Buddha Nagar District of Uttar Pradesh, India.
Overview of the Project:
The Noida International Airport is being developed under a Public-Private partnership led by Zurich Airport International AG and government agencies including the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, Noida International Airport Limited, and the Directorate of Civil Aviation under the Uttar Pradesh government.
The Airport aims to serve as an alternative to the crowded Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and is expected to become India’s largest airport. The development of the airport will happen in a phased manner under four phases. A land area of 3,296.38 acres is allocated for Phase 1 and Phase 2 for this project. The construction cost for Phase 1 alone amounts to INR 3,745 crore.
As of April 2023, under Phase 1, the RCC structural work for the ground floor is currently in progress.
SMEC India Private Limited is the Detail Design/GFC Architect, and Jacobs CES Consulting Engineering Services India Private Limited is the Project Management consultant for this project. Aeon Integrated Building Design Consultants LLP will be responsible for the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) works of the project. Additionally, Tata Projects Limited has been entrusted as the general turnkey contractor for phase 1 of the project.
