10 New Cancer Care Hospitals to Come Up in Assam

Assam Cabinet, during the weekly cabinet meeting on Tuesday, November 7, approved a capital of 135 INR-Crore for Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) for the development of 10 Cancer Hospitals in the state.

The development will commence in a phased manner with three Hospitals to be launched in phase I and the remaining seven to be launched in phase II of the project. The hospitals to be constructed in Phase I will be located in Silchar, Guwahati, and Diphu. Whereas, the second phase hospitals will be located in Dhubri, Nalbari, Goalpara, Golaghat, Nagaon, Sivasagar, and Tinsukia.

The cabinet also approved to release of approximately 133 INR-Crore under the ‘Free Drugs and Consumables for Government Hospitals’ initiative to provide effective healthcare support to the needy.
