Assam CM lays foundation stone for INR 116 Crore Azara District Hospital

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Monday, March 4, laid the foundation stone for the 100-bed Azara District Hospital worth an estimated cost of INR 116 Crore. The project is poised to address the longstanding need for improved healthcare facilities in the region.

The upcoming hospital will offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including 14 essential facilities. It will have the provision of three operation theaters and advanced facilities such as ICUs, CT scans, and a blood bank. Additionally, the hospital will house a dental care unit and accommodation facilities for medical professionals.

Chief Minister Sarma affirmed the government’s commitment to completing the Azara District Hospital by the upcoming 2026 elections, underscoring the administration’s dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure and services for the people of Assam.
