IIL invests INR 700 Crore for an Animal Vax Facility in Hyderabad

Indian Immunologicals Ltd (IIL), a leading vaccine manufacturer in Asia, invests an estimated INR 700 Crore for setting up a greenfield veterinary vaccine manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. Dr K Anand Kumar, Managing Director, IIL, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on Thursday, December 28.

The greenfield facility will occupy an anticipated 14 Acres of land parcel in Phase III of TSIICL’s (Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd) Biotech Park at Karkapatta in Genome Valley. It will manufacture FMD-Vac (Foot and Mouth Disease Vaccine) and a combination of FMD+HS-Vac (Foot and Mouth Disease Vaccine and Haemorrhagic Septicaemia Vaccine).

The project will have a generation capacity of 300 Million doses per year (150 Million doses of each vaccine) and will be equipped with a BSL-3 facility for manufacturing drugs. Moreover, it will also have a fill-finish capacity for producing drugs for the two vaccines. The project is anticipated to generate 750 direct and indirect job opportunities.
