Jaipur International Airport undergoes expansion work to handle passenger traffic

Jaipur International Airport is undergoing substantial expansion to cater to the increase in passenger traffic. The Airport officials on Monday, October 9, announced that the Airport is currently undergoing extensive development in the landside area and inside the terminal building.

The airport facility is expecting an annual increase of 10% in passengers compared to last year. The Central Government is also focusing on connectivity to smaller cities which might result in the growth of passengers.

The expansion work includes – the construction of additional 13 check-in counters at Terminal 2 departure (currently there are 26 counters), increasing the seating capacity on the first floor for 100 passengers, Ultra-Luxury Lounge on the ground floor, and installation of additional baggage conveyor belts at domestic departure.

With the expansion of the Jaipur International Airport, the Ministry of Civil Aviation expects to cater to meet the growing passenger requirements and enhance connectivity across the region.
