NMMC (Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation) has proposed to develop two multi-level parking facilities in addition to the under-construction parking facility at Belapur. The Engineering and Property departments will soon conduct a detailed survey of the selected areas and submit reports.

The proposed facilities will come up in Sector 15 of CBD Belapur over an anticipated 6,900 SqM of plot and Sector 30A in Vashi, opposite Hotel Tunga, over nearly 11,300 SqM of land. These will be located in close vicinity of the respective railway stations and are likely to be developed on a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) mode.

NMMC will appoint a consultant to conduct a detailed study and produce reports of vehicular traffic in the region, parking facility composition & availability, present parking systems, and other related details. The capacity of parking facilities will be decided based on these reports. As of now, these projects are anticipated to accommodate 1000 vehicles, said Arvind Shinde, executive engineer, NMMC.

The under-construction multi-level parking facility at Belapur is ready for commission. It is being developed on Plot 39 of Sector 15, near Palm Beach Road. It is a four-storey parking facility with the capacity to accommodate 476 four-wheelers and 121 two-wheelers.
