Tata Power Renewable Energy to set up 12.5 MW captive Solar Plant in Maharashtra

TATA Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) on Friday, October 20, announced the set-up of their new 12.5 MW captive Solar Plant in Maharashtra. TPREL signed a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Supreme Petrochem Ltd through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – TP Saturn Ltd for the same.

The facility will be located in Achegaon, Maharashtra and is expected to generate 27.5 Million units of electricity per annum. The project is envisioned to reduce Carbon emissions by 20,075 metric tonnes per year.

The proposed solar plant is expected to be operational within eight months of signing the PDA. With this project, the overall renewable energy portfolio of TPREL has reached a total capacity of 7902 MW.
