Transport complex to be developed near Patna airport by 2021

Bihar Government has decided to construct a ‘Transport Complex’ in Phulwarisharif area near Patna airport and has awarded the construction work to Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited (BSBCCL) of the state building construction department.

It will house the offices of Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) and its regional office, district transport office, bus depot, driving-learning testing centre, residential colony for staff and a fuel station.

The estimated cost of the project is around Rs. 164.3 crore and would be developed on a land measuring over 28 acres which is likely to begin in January 2020 after getting environmental clearance from the National Green Tribunal.

According to sources at the building construction department, the BSRTC building will be G+4 whereas the six-block residential colonies will have G+5 buildings. The DTO building will be G+3 while the driving testing centre and filing station would have only ground floor offices.

Similarly, other utility structures will include central workshop (for maintenance, cleaning and servicing of buses), covered parking bays for buses, fuel stations including that of compressed natural gas (CNG).
