Bhopal is set to receive its long-awaited ring road once the proposed western bypass is completed. The state cabinet has given approval to the INR 3,000 Crore project, which will establish a connection between the Mandideep industrial estate and the Indore bypass road at Phanda, passing through the vicinity of Kolar dam and Ratibad.

This new western highway, spanning 41 kilometers, will start before Mandideep (along the Obedullaganj & Mandideep road) and terminate at the Indore road in Phanda Kalan village. It will be developed according to a four-lane access control standard, and service roads will also be included.
